About Jeanette

Hello, I'm Jeanette. I'm a Pilates Instructor, based in the Nottingham area. I've been teaching since 2005 and am registered on the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 3.

For most of my adult life, I have had joint problems, mostly in my lower back. I first came across a class called Pilates in 2002, which promised better posture and help for back problems. I became hooked. At the time, I was having to take yet more time away from my sedentary job in IT with back problems. My physiotherapist, when he found out that I was trying Pilates, said it was the best exercise I could be doing. I started attending as many classes as I could, and then decided to train to teach it myself, even giving up my career in IT along the way.

It’s a career choice that I have not regretted. I have been teaching since 2005, gaining skills in stress management, personal training, nutrition and weight control along the way, and don’t look on it as a job. Pilates is now a way of life for me, and it has become almost an obsession to pass on that way of life to others.

I teach in numerous health clubs in the Nottingham area, plus run my own private classes in the community in village halls. I also teach one-to-one sessions together with small-group sessions in clients' homes. I have worked with a local physiotherapist introducing Pilates to his back-care rehabilitation patients.
